Andre Cymone was on the early Prince recordings. He wasn’t credited, but was definitely the player you credit Prince as playing. Taking nothing from Prince, but Cymone should be credited for what contributed.

This is CRAZY. I was born June 7th 1992. When Prince passed away, I got his symbol tattooed on my calf in June of 2016. I didn’t realize until then, that we had the same birthday. THEN you say the symbol he went with, was created in 1992! My birth year. Idk, to me, that sounds like it really means something. That is amazing. Thank you for this information

Today is the 39th anniversary of Shelia's Romance 1600 album Sister Fate being the first single but then Love Bizarre all because of Prince really shot straight to the charts at #1 both R&B/Pop charts.very longest of the album even my mother said the Longest Bizarre Version Holly Rock should've been on this album but instead it ended up being on Krush Groove soundtrack. Prince was very busy in 1985.

Wow this is indeed cool and one of the best albums besides Purple Rain soundtrack or SOTT. Everyone probably remembers the early album copy with his eyeball on each record.I'm so glad that Warner suggested in doing so for the estate of Prince.

Prince's openness about his faith never bothered me. As an atheist I just thought of those songs as an interesting narrative or I would hear God in his music and use that personally as a metaphor for things in my life that mean the world to me.

I think people tend to "pigeon hole" Prince by what he once said or did. If they are paying any kind of attention, they will notice he was always evolving and growing, not only as a musician, and entertainer, but as a person, and a man. The growth is heard in his music and interviews. I love all his music, but it is his growth as a man that I love the most. As we age and mature and have a lot of life experience behind us, we tend to view life differently. Things that once were so very important to us when we were younger, somehow no longer matter as we age. And, things we might not have given much thought previously, seem to consume our attention. In life we make decisions based on what we know and think at the time, but in retrospect we realize our folly. Its just all part of the process of maturing, and Prince was miles above the rest, not only as a musician, but as a thinker and a believer in the Word. The world IS much darker without him in it, and I miss his light. Rest in Power Prince!

I saw John Blackwell at Ryles in Somerville many times when he was a student at Berklee. I got goosebumps watching him. He is no doubt the best.

I was blessed to see Prince in Concert 11 times across the country and stadiums, then the smaller venues as well in the after shows, and I’ve seen a couple of different drummers performing with Prince, I also own quite a few different Prince tours on DVD/BLU RAY, I would have to say John Blackwell is #1 by a long shot, not only because Prince admitted that himself in a interview, but also cause he played with him consistently for the longest, and held down entire shows without fatigue or ever missing a beat! #2 was definitely Michael Bland and although in my opinion John Blackwell was the 2nd coming of Michael Bland, he literally took that style, technique, pocket, and flare when needed to the next level. Sheila E, Kirk, and Bobby Z were all next in line as well as the future variations of drummers. As Prince evolved so did his quest for great drummers and musicians

Hmmm I going to start by saying that I am a huge Prince fan. He is not immune to plagiarizing. Best example I can give is the song 7. It is a direct copy of Tramp by Lowell Fulson.

I love this song’s energy..I feel like Prince was in a transition phase with his music at this time. He was phenomenal. Im thankful I got to see him in concert in the early 2000s. He spoke to the audience about us all being as ONE. It was Amazing.❤
